January 18 Weight loss UpdateThis morning, Connie and I had our weekly weigh-in, and since Jan. 2nd we have combined to lose 25.8 pounds in just 16 days. The further we get into this project the more fun it becomes. I look forward to the weekly weigh-in, and normally have a target weight that I'm looking to achieve. We have basically cut out junk food, white bread, potatoes, soft drinks and all fried foods. We drink a lot of water and eat fruit between meals instead of snacking on junk food. Thus far, we haven't implemented an intense exercise program, but we have been walking on the treadmill approximately five or six times a week for a few minutes. So far so good, but we still have a long way to go. One unorthodox thing we do is to have a cheat day each week. Our cheat day is Saturday, and we eat whatever we want on this day. We don't go overboard, but if we desire a slice of pizza or a hamburger, we indulge ourselves as a reward for a job well done during the week. The main thing is to stay focused on your plan and to keep your mind disciplined at times of weakness.
